Welcome to this home page. I'm a Professor of Mathematics at the University
of Western Australia in the Pure Mathematics Section in the Department
of Mathematics. I am also (half-time) Dean,
Postgradute Research Studies. I'm a member of the Australian
Mathematical Society, President (1992-1994), Vice-President (1990-92,
1994-95), Council Member (1977-79); a Fellow of the Australian
Academy of Science (1996--); a member of the Board of the Australian
Mathematics Trust, and Deputy Chair of the Australian
Mathematical Olympiad Committee; a Foundation Fellow of the Institute
for Combinatorics and its Applications, Council Member (1991-96); a member
of the Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia, the American Mathematical
Society, and the London Mathematical Society.
I am also a Director of Data Analysis Australia.
Currently I am an Associate Editor of Aequationes Mathematicae,
Ars Combinatoria, Australasian Journal of Combinatorics,
Designs, Codes and Cryptography, Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics,
and Journal of Combinatorial Designs.
I'm a member of a number of committees
both within the University and outside.
Research interests:
Group Theory especially permutation groups and algorithms for
computing with groups,
Algebraic Graph Theory, and the Theory of Combinatorial Designs.. |
