Welcome to this home page. I'm a Professor of Mathematics at the University
of Western Australia in the Pure Mathematics Section in the Department
of Mathematics. I'm a member of the Australian
Mathematical Society, President (1992-1994), Vice-President (1990-92,
1994-95), Council Member (1977-79, 98--2000); a Fellow of the Australian
Academy of Science (1996--); a member of the Board of the Australian
Mathematics Trust, and Deputy Chair of the Australian
Mathematical Olympiad Committee; a Foundation Fellow of the Institute
for Combinatorics and its Applications, Council Member (1991--); a member
of the Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia, the American Mathematical
Society, and the London Mathematical Society.
I am also a Director of Data Analysis Australia.
Currently I am an Associate Editor of Aequationes Mathematicae,
Ars Combinatoria, Australasian Journal of Combinatorics,
Designs, Codes and Cryptography, Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics,
Journal of Combinatorial Designs, and the Proceedings of the Edinburgh
Mathematical Society.
From 1996 to 1998 I was Dean,
Postgradute Research Studies. I'm a member of a number of committees
both within the University and outside.
Research interests:
Group Theory especially permutation groups and algorithms for
computing with groups,
Algebraic Graph Theory, and the Theory of Combinatorial Designs.. |
