A Brief CV of Cai Heng Li

Qualifications: MSc (Chinese Academy of Science), PhD (The University of Western Australia), FTICA
Research interests: Algebraic Combinatorics, and finite group theory.

I was born in Yunnan, China, and I recieved my MSc degree of mathematics from The Institute of System Science, Chinese Academy of Science. Then I did my PhD from 1993 to 1996 at The University of Western Australia, under supervision of Professor C.E. Praeger.
    1997 -- 2000, University Postdoctoral Research Fellow (UWA);
    2000 -- 2002, Postdoctoral Research Fellow (ARC);
    2003 -- 2008, QEII Research Fellow (ARC);
    2004 -- 2005, Associate Professor (Ohio State University);
    2003 -- 2007, Associate Professor (UWA).
    2008 -- , Professor (UWA).

A Kirkman Medal
    Cai Heng Li was awarded a 1998 Kirkman Medal by The Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications.

    (The Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications is an international mathematical society; the Kirkman Medal recognizes distinguished contributions to combinatorial research by members of the ICA in the early stages of their research careers.)

    Citation: Cai Heng Li is a creative and prolific mathematician with broad interests. His strong mathematical background, organization, initiative, and energy have led to a publication list impressive in terms of quantity, and littered with first-rate results achieved via a thorough understanding of a large body of algebraic and combanitorial methods. Li is very creative and zealous in seeking out new research problem to be attacked. Over the past a few years he has mastered a wide range of powerful mathematical tools to aid him in his research.

Research Fellowships
    1997 -- 2000, University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship of UWA
    2000 -- 2002, ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
