Dear Grant, I am attaching the two referees reports for the paper you submitted for inclusion in the proceedings of the 2006 UniServe Science symposium, to be held on September 28. As you can see, one referee recommended that your paper be published with revisions. The other that it be accepted for non-refereed publication only. Since one referee was enthusiastic about the paper, I do not want to reject it. I believe it is necessary for you to address carefully all the referees' comments and suggestions, and make appropriate revisions to the paper. I will need to receive from you, with the corrected paper, a statement outlining the changes you made. If you believe the referees were unreasonable in any of their suggestions, I should like to read a short statement of your reasons. Provided all the changes have been made to the editor's satisfaction, your paper can go ahead as a refereed article. You can, of course, leave the paper as it is and we will publish it unrefereed. Please note these points: (1) I would ask that you get the changed file back to us on or before MONDAY 21st AUGUST (2) We have noticed quite a few papers were submitted with reference lists not following the format required for the conference proceedings. The three most common formatting errors found in the reference lists were: • Incorrect font size. The references should be 10pt font (not 12pt). • No indentations in the reference list. (The references should be formatted as a hanging indentation 0.5cm.) • Line spaces between each reference. (There should be NO line spaces between each entry.) Please make sure to amend your paper as required before submitting your final copy. Laura On behalf of Ian Johnston PS: Can I also remind you to register for the conference before 19th August.
