This book aims at introducing students to the art and science of mathematical modelling. The use of an algebraic package is essential for modelling and in the book Maple is adopted, although any other algebraic package could be used as effectively. My aim in providing this Web document is to:
- Provide instructors and students with sufficient information about the book to enable them to decide whether to use or purchase the book. To do this I've included The Preface and Introduction, and a Table of Contents.
- Provide information to students and instructors already using the book that they might find useful. In particular I've provided updated Maple text codes
(later versions of Maple do not necessarily handle earlier codes), Mathematica codes, and also additional hints/solutions for the Exercises. To obtain available information you should go to the Table of Contents, and click on the appropriate link.
